What does Rancilio error code W03 mean?
On a three-group Classe 11, the third group has its own flowmeter, which counts the water and lets the control end each shot at the programmed volume. If group 3 runs and no pulses come back, the control records W03 No signal from flowmeter group 3. That group cannot dose by volume, so its shots may behave oddly, while the other groups work. The reason may be a flowmeter that has stopped counting, a cable that has loosened or a water path that is not flowing. Because the warning names a group, an operator can tell it apart from a general water problem: if groups 1 and 2 behave, the cause is local to group 3. The manual lists the warning with no operator remedy, and the signal has to be measured to find the cause. A pump or valve that works normally on the other groups does not rule out a problem on this one, because each group has its own flowmeter and its own wiring back to the board.
