UniMac QN Washer-Extractor Error Code E nFLo: No Water Flow
E nFLo means the water did not reach the basket within 5 minutes on a UniMac QN washer-extractor. Disconnect and reconnect power, open both wall supply valves fully and check the hoses. If E nFLo returns, call us.
Medium: the cycle stops early, and the cause is usually a valve or hose that is easy to check.

What does UniMac error code E nFLo mean?
E nFLo is the no water flow error on a UniMac QN washer-extractor such as the UCA020QN. When a fill begins, the control gives the water 5 minutes to reach the basket. If it does not arrive in that time, the control concludes that little or no water is coming in and stops with this code. The check can be programmed off. When it is on, it catches a closed valve, a blocked inlet or a dead fill valve long before the 30-minute fill timer would.
The causes are mostly at the supply end. A hot or cold wall supply valve may be left closed or only partly open. The fill valve inlet screen may be clogged with scale or grit. A supply hose may be kinked and starving the washer. A fill valve that does not open when the control calls for water gives the same result.
Disconnect and reconnect power to clear the code, as the maker's operator step says.
Affected models and control systems
E nFLo is listed for the CHM1792C family washer-extractors, the QN models from 20 to 100 lb, with the front-end control; the manual's example model is the UCA020QN.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- The display shows E nFLo within minutes of a fill
- No sound of water entering
- Supply hoses limp or hot-cold mismatched
- The drum stays dry
Possible causes
Listed in UniMac's documentation
- A hot or cold wall supply valve left closed or only partly open
- A fill valve inlet screen clogged with scale or grit
- A kinked supply hose that starves the washer of water
- A fill valve that does not open when the control calls for water
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E nFLo on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Plumber's isolation valve left shut after maintenance
- Water main shut for building work
- Hose collapsed inside from age
- Fill valve coil burned out and unable to lift the plunger
Safe checks before calling for service
- Disconnect and reconnect power to clear the code, as the maker's operator step says.
- Turn both of the wall supply valves open as far as they go.
- Check the supply hoses for kinks.
- Start a short cycle and watch for water. If E nFLo returns, call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code E nFLo
- Read the code and confirm the 5 minute check was active.
- Check supply pressure at the hoses.
- Remove the hoses and inspect the inlet screens.
- Test each fill valve coil and watch for valve movement.
- Replace the valve or screens as the test shows.
- Valve coil tests are live work behind the panels.
- Pulling hoses under pressure can flood the machine electrics.
- Telling a dead valve from a blocked screen needs a measured test.
How error code E nFLo differs from similar codes
E nFLo is the early 5 minute no-flow check, while E FL is the later fill time limit of 30 minutes on QN machines.

How is E nFLo different from E FL?
E nFLo notices no flow after 5 minutes. E FL waits 30 minutes for the level on QN machines.
Can the check be turned off?
Yes, it can be programmed off, so some machines will not show it.
Is the building water off?
Possibly. Check other taps and the wall valves first.
