UniMac Washer-Extractor Error Code Eio 44: Cold Valve Output Short
Eio 44 means the input and output board found the cold fill valve shorted, so it turned that output off and the control stopped the cycle. Shut the cold water supply valve if you can, power down, and call us.

What does UniMac error code Eio 44 mean?
Eio 44 is the cold-side partner of Eio 43 on a UniMac QN washer-extractor. The input and output board watches the current it sends to the cold fill valve coil. Excess current through the coil or its wiring makes the board turn that output off, and the control stops the cycle. The checks are very similar to the hot side, though the problem may sit in a different coil or wire. Because the cold valve is used in nearly every wash and rinse, a washer that stops with Eio 44 often does so in the first fill. The manual lists the cold fill valve coil resistance, the valve wiring and connector, moisture near the valve, and the I/O board output stage. Cold water pipes sweat in humid rooms, and that condensation can run onto a connector and short it. Record the code, shut the cold supply, power down, wipe up water and keep the area dry for our visit.
