UniMac Industrial Washer Fill Alarm Error: Fill Time Exceeded
Fill Alarm Error means the Fill Alarm time was exceeded, so the tub did not fill in the time allowed. The cycle is stopped and the Cycle Stopped Error Menu alternates with the Run Menu while an audio alarm sounds. The user may continue or stop the cycle.
Medium: the cycle is stopped until the operator decides.

What does UniMac Fill Alarm Error mean?
The UniLinc control gives each fill a time limit called the Fill Alarm time. If the tub has not reached its fill condition when that time runs out, the control stops the cycle, sounds the audio alarm and shows the Cycle Stopped Error Menu, which alternates with the Run Menu. The manual lets the user continue the cycle or stop it. Nothing is thrown away until the operator chooses, so a brief water supply interruption that has since recovered can be cleared by continuing. The reasons for a slow fill are a supply valve that is shut or throttled, low building pressure, a fill valve that does not open fully, a clogged inlet screen, or a level input that does not report. A Fill Alarm time that is set shorter than the machine really needs would trigger it with a healthy supply.
Affected models and control systems
UniMac UniLinc control on the UW35TV, UW60TV, UW80TV, UW100TV, UW125TV and UW150TV washer-extractors and the UWL, UWN and UWU 035-150 T3 models.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Fill Alarm Error on the display
- Menus alternating with the Run Menu
- Audio alarm
- Tub with little or no water in it
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Fill Alarm Error on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Supply valves closed or throttled
- Low water pressure in the building
- Inlet screens clogged with scale
- Fill Alarm time set shorter than the fill needs
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check that the hot and cold supply valves are fully open.
- If water is entering now, choose to continue the cycle.
- If no water is entering, choose to stop the cycle.
- Look at whether other machines on the same supply are also slow.
- Note the cycle and step and whether the supply was interrupted.
How a technician diagnoses Fill Alarm Error
- Read the log and the fill step of the cycle.
- Measure supply pressure at the inlet and clean the screens.
- Energize the fill valve and check the coil and voltage.
- Check the level input and its wiring.
- Compare the Fill Alarm time with the real fill time and correct it.
- The fill valves and level input are wired at line voltage.
- A level input needs a meter and the maker's wiring information.
- Changing the alarm time is done in programming mode.
How Fill Alarm Error differs from similar codes
Fill Alarm Error lets the operator continue or stop. Drain Alarm Error and Heat Alarm Error work the same way for the drain and the heat.

Should I continue or stop?
Continue if water has begun to come in, and stop if the tub is still dry.
Why do the menus alternate?
The control alternates the Cycle Stopped Error Menu with the Run Menu so you see both.
Could the time setting be wrong?
Yes. If the Fill Alarm time is shorter than a normal fill, a healthy machine will trip it.
