UniMac Industrial Washer Error Code TEMP: Temperature Above Alarm Level
TEMP means the temperature sensor saw the water above its limit. The error is recoverable, but it only clears once the temperature has dropped below the alarm level. After that, Enter restarts the step and Clear aborts the cycle, within two minutes.
Medium: the cycle is held while the water cools, then the operator chooses.

What does UniMac error code TEMP mean?
Hot cycles are watched by a temperature sensor feeding the WE-6 computer. If the reading exceeds the limit set for the machine, the computer declares TEMP and stops the cycle where it is. The manual stresses that the error clears only when the temperature falls back under the alarm level. That means pressing keys at once does nothing useful: the machine has to cool first. When it has, the operator gets two minutes to choose between Enter, which restarts the step, and Clear, which aborts the cycle. The most common reasons are a cycle that asks for more heat than the limit allows, a supply hotter than the program expects, or a heat source that stays on. TEMP is a different message from OVERHT: there the sensor circuit itself is suspect, and the error does not recover.

Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- TEMP on the display
- Tub water too hot to touch
- Buzzer pulsing
- Keys do nothing until the water cools
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code TEMP on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Program temperature above what the machine limit permits
- Supply water delivered hotter than the program assumes
- Steam or heat valve stuck open
- Sensor reading off after wear
Safe checks before calling for service
- Leave the machine alone until the water has cooled.
- Then press Enter to restart the step, or Clear to abort.
- Keep the door shut while the tub is hot.
- Look at the temperature setting in the cycle and compare it with the plan.
- Note the cycle number and the step where TEMP appeared.
How a technician diagnoses error code TEMP
- Read TEMP together with the cycle step.
- Measure actual water temperature and compare it with the display.
- Check the heat valve or contactor that feeds the tub.
- Test the sensor and its wiring against a reference.
- Correct the program or the failing part, then run a verification cycle.
- Hot water and heat valves are a burn hazard.
- The sensor circuit runs to the computer in the electrical area of the cabinet.
- Proving a sensor needs a reference thermometer and a meter.
How error code TEMP differs from similar codes
TEMP recovers when the water cools. OVERHT does not recover and points at the temperature input.

Related UniMac industrial laundry error codes
Why does Enter do nothing at first?
The manual says TEMP clears only after the temperature falls below the alarm level.
Is the sensor bad when I see TEMP?
Not necessarily. It reported a real high reading, or a program asked for too much heat.
How is it different from OVERHT?
OVERHT concerns an open or shorted temperature input and cannot be cleared by the operator.
