UniMac Industrial Washer Rotation Sensor Error: Invalid Signal
Rotation Sensor Error means the UniLinc control received an invalid signal from the Rotation Sensor. The cycle continues as if no rotation sensor were fitted, using loaded coast times, until machine power is reset. Reset the power and the control re-acknowledges the sensor.
Low: the machine keeps running with longer waits until the sensor is dealt with.

What does UniMac Rotation Sensor Error mean?
A rotation sensor tells the control how the drum is turning, and the control uses that to decide when the drum has coasted down. If the signal from the sensor is invalid, the control does not stop the cycle. It carries on as if no rotation sensor were fitted and uses loaded coast times, which are fixed waiting periods that assume a loaded drum. That keeps the load moving, at the price of longer waits. The control keeps working in this fallback mode until machine power is reset. After a reset, the control checks the sensor again, re-acknowledges it and returns to normal operation. If the signal is still invalid, the error returns. Typical reasons are a sensor wire that has been disturbed, a loose connector, a sensor that has moved from its target or a sensor that has failed. Because the machine keeps working in the meantime, the error is easy to ignore, but the longer coast waits add up across a shift.
Affected models and control systems
UniMac UniLinc control on the UW35TV, UW60TV, UW80TV, UW100TV, UW125TV and UW150TV washer-extractors and the UWL, UWN and UWU 035-150 T3 models.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Rotation Sensor Error on the display
- Cycles running with longer coast waits
- Error returns after power reset
- Drum stops later than normal in cycle timing
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind Rotation Sensor Error on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Rotation sensor signal wire loose or damaged
- Sensor misaligned with its target
- Sensor failed
- Interference on the sensor wiring
Safe checks before calling for service
- Reset the machine power, as the manual instructs.
- Let the control re-acknowledge the sensor.
- Run a cycle and see whether the error returns.
- If it returns, the machine will keep working with longer coast times.
- Tell the technician when the error first appeared.
How a technician diagnoses Rotation Sensor Error
- Read the log and when the error began.
- Check the sensor wiring and connector.
- Check the sensor position relative to its target.
- Test the sensor output while the drum turns slowly.
- Replace the sensor or repair the wiring and confirm normal operation after a power reset.
- The sensor sits near the drive and moving parts.
- Testing the signal needs a meter and access behind panels.
- Alignment of the sensor and target needs the maker's specification.
How Rotation Sensor Error differs from similar codes
Rotation Sensor Error does not abort the cycle. Most other UniLinc errors abort or stop it.

Does the cycle stop?
No. It continues using loaded coast times until power is reset.
What does the power reset do?
The control re-acknowledges the sensor and returns to normal operation.
What if it keeps coming back?
The sensor or its wiring needs a technician.
