UniMac Industrial Washer Error Code WATER: Door Locked, Water Remaining
WATER means the WE-6 computer still senses water in the machine when the stop routine ends. Outputs stay off and the door stays locked while water remains. It is exempt from the two-minute window, so the answer is to let the water drain.
Medium: the door stays locked until the tub has emptied.

What does UniMac error code WATER mean?
After the stop routine finishes, the computer does one more check before freeing the door: is there water in the tub? If there is, it shows WATER, holds every output off and refuses to unlock the door. The manual says plainly that the computer will not let the door open while there is water in the washer-extractor. It also exempts WATER from the two-minute response window that governs other errors, so no key press is expected or useful. The reasoning is simple. An opened door on a full tub puts a large amount of water on the floor and in the operator's way. Waiting for the drain is the whole action, and a laundry with several machines on one drain line may find that WATER appears on all of them when the line backs up. When the water does not go, look at what stops it leaving or at whether the level input still reports water that is gone.

Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code WATER on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Drain outlet clogged with lint
- Drain valve stuck partly closed
- Level input stuck reporting water
- Inlet valve passing water slowly into the tub
Safe checks before calling for service
- Give the tub time to drain.
- Check the discharge hose and floor drain for backup.
- Do not pry or force the door.
- Make sure no inlet valve is dripping into the tub.
- Note how long the water stayed and the cycle that just ended.
How a technician diagnoses error code WATER
- Read WATER and the stop routine that preceded it.
- Look at the drain path from tub to floor drain.
- Check inlet valves for seepage.
- Compare the level input state with the real water level.
- Confirm the tub empties and the door unlocks.
- The door lock is a safety interlock and is not to be defeated.
- Valves and level input are at line voltage.
- A full tub holds a heavy load of water.
How error code WATER differs from similar codes
WATER has no operator choice, unlike FILL and EMTY, and it holds the door shut.
