Repairs this series usually needs
- One-beep low water alarm
- Three- and four-beep high pressure alarms
- Gear motor trouble at eight beeps
- Bin control circuit at nine beeps
- Scale on the auger and evaporator
The F-series makers produce flake and cubelet ice for beverages, healthcare and bars. The F-801, F-1501 and F-2001 are common, and the F-1501 and F-2001 J-generation boards sound a five-second beep pattern with codes from one to nine.
An auger turns inside the freezing barrel, driven by a gear motor, so scale and water quality matter more here than on a cuber. Low water, high pressure and gear motor alarms are the ones we see most.
We check the water supply and float switch first, then condenser airflow, then the gear motor circuit and protector. The F-801 is older than the J-generation models and has no board beep table, so we test it directly. Ice for drinks and care facilities should stay on a clear cleaning schedule.

One is low water, two is the drain switch left in drain, three and four are high pressure, five is the freeze timer, six and seven are voltage, eight is the gear motor and nine is the bin control.
Why is scale a bigger deal on a flaker?
The auger scrapes ice from a barrel that scale coats easily. A heavy load can open the gear motor protector and stop ice. Regular cleaning helps.
Do you service the F-801?
Yes. The F-801 has no board beep table like the J-generation machines, so we diagnose it by testing the water supply, the gear motor and the refrigeration side directly.
