The Series I is an older McCall reach-in refrigerator with an aluminum interior, in one, two and three sections. The plate numbers are MCCR1, MCCR1-S, MCCR2 and similar. The electronic control self-checks and shows an error read-out such as E1 when it finds a problem.
The refrigerators are set near 38 F at the factory, and the control waits up to ten minutes after power is applied before it starts operations, so a cabinet that seems idle after an outage may be fine. We read the code, then check the condenser, the gasket and the probe.
These are older cabinets still in service, and we repair them. We tell you plainly if the cabinet is past a sensible repair, and we give a written price before any part is ordered.

The control waits up to ten minutes after power is applied before it starts operations. Give it time before you assume something is wrong. Unplugging it again restarts the wait.

The control found a problem and shows an error read-out. The display does not define each code, so we test the cabinet to find the cause.
How cold is it set at the factory?
Near 38 F for refrigerators and near 3 F for freezers. Allow about eight hours between adjustments so the cabinet can settle before you judge it.
