The eikon e4 and e4s are Merrychef speed ovens with an 1800 W microwave and a 3.2 kW convection heater. They run on 208/240V 60Hz power from a 30 A circuit with a NEMA 6-30P plug. A touch screen holds up to 1024 programs. The e4s rating plate example reads e4SSTMV6DFU1GMUS.

The oven will not operate without the air filter, and the manual asks for 2 in of clearance around the oven and at least 36 in above the floor. In kitchens we see overheat messages E103, E104 and E117 from blocked filters or heat from nearby equipment. We also test the magnetron, the heater and the boards.

How much clearance does an e4s need?

The manual asks for 2 in around the oven and at least 36 in above the floor. A heat barrier is required beside a burner or range.

What does the 1024 programs mean?

It is the number of cooking programs the screen can store. Losing them points to a memory or software problem, not to the heating parts.
