The Classe 5 is Rancilio’s traditional espresso machine in two and three group versions. The S version stops the shot by hand and the USB version controls it electronically. The name is on the front and the model is on the data plate, and which version you own tells us where the dosing parts are.
On a Classe 5 we start with the grind, dose and gasket, since most shot problems begin there, then move to the pump and the boiler. Scale in water takes a toll on the heating element, so a filter and a descale matter.

Scale on the element or a weak heater are common causes. We look at the water side first, then the element. Leave the boiler closed.
