The CombiMaster Plus, written CMP or CM_P on the oven, is an older Rational combi oven with a manual-dial control. It sits beside the earlier ClimaPlus Combi, written CPC, and the CombiMaster, written CM. Gas versions show rES on the clock button when the ignition controller has locked out.
You will most often recognize these ovens by the dial control and the small clock button. A gas lockout is not cleared by switching the oven off and on. The cause has to be fixed first, and then the automatic ignition controller must be reset. We check the burner, the ignition electrode and the gas connection before any reset.
These ovens have often run for many years. We repair them when parts can be found, and we tell you plainly when the cost is more than the oven is worth.

Why does my CombiMaster Plus show rES?
On gas models rES on the clock button means the ignition controller is locked out after a gas problem. Restarting alone does not clear it. We fix the cause and then reset the controller.
Is a CombiMaster Plus still worth repairing?
It depends on the cabinet and the steam parts. A gas ignition repair is often reasonable. If scale and age have damaged more than one part, we will tell you before you spend money.
Do ClimaPlus and CombiMaster ovens use the same service numbers?
The service messages on these older ovens follow the same Service numbering style as the SelfCookingCenter. Because the control differs, we confirm what each number means on your oven before replacing a part.
