The SelfCookingCenter is the Rational combi oven that many kitchens still run every day. It comes as a table-top oven in sizes 61, 62, 101, 102 and 6 2/3, or as a floor-standing oven in 201 and 202, and it can be electric or gas. The whitefficiency versions are the units from 09/2011.
On the oven, look for the SCC letters followed by the size, for example SCC 101. Service messages begin with the word Service and a number. Our first looks go to the water side, meaning the CDS sensor, the level electrode, the drain valve and the SC pump, then to the cleaning valves and the steam generator temperature sensors. On gas ovens we start with the ignition box.
Many of these ovens are out of warranty. We repair them, give you the price in writing first and say plainly when a repair is not worth it.

How do I tell a whitefficiency SelfCookingCenter from another one?
Read the model line on the oven for the SCC letters and size. The whitefficiency units are the ones built from 09/2011. If the label is hard to read, tell us the size you see and we will work out the rest on the visit.
What does a Service message on this oven usually point to?
Most Service numbers on this line point to water handling or a temperature sensor. A short number in the 10s and 20s often concerns drain, pump or sensor parts, while 32 on a gas oven concerns the ignition box.
Can I keep an older SCC running for a few more years?
Often yes. The cabinet and the control last well when scale is kept in check. We check the steam parts and the drain first, then tell you whether another repair makes sense.
