The WMF 1500 F is a fully automatic coffee machine, the internal storage version. You will find 1500 F on the front or on the data plate. The display reports numeric codes, such as 6 for a stiff brewing unit, 88 and 89 for boiler temperature problems, 161 and 162 for water flow errors and 188 for the heater.
Our first look goes to what the code names. A stiff brewing unit and a blocked grinder are the usual mechanical calls, while flow errors send us to the grind setting, the water supply and the brewing path. For the heater error the machine is switched off and unplugged, and we test the heater circuit ourselves.
A good number of 1500 F machines have outlived their warranty. We service them, put the estimate on paper before starting and speak up when a repair would not pay.

What does code 6 mean on a 1500 F?
The brewing unit is stiff or stuck. The owner's manual says to switch off, let the machine cool and switch on again. If code 6 returns, call us and keep your hands out of the unit.
What is the difference between codes 161 and 162?
161 is a flow error while brewing and 162 is a flow error while cleaning. The owner's manual gives the same steps for both. We check the water supply and the brewing path.
Can you repair an older 1500 F?
Yes, older 1500 F machines are routine for us. The estimate is in writing before work, and we tell you honestly if an older unit is not worth the repair.
