What does Speed Queen error code EI0E mean?
A Quantum control protects its stored settings with a security code. Each infra-red message from an external device has to be encrypted with the right one, and the control checks it before accepting anything. When the message arrives without the correct code, or was prepared for a different washer type, the control cannot unlock it and shows EI0E. The refusal is deliberate: it keeps unwanted changes from reaching the settings. The code speaks only about the data session, not about washing, water or the door, so cycles run as usual while it shows. The manual lists the security code stored in the external device, whether the device is set for this washer type, the aim of the device at the window, and any recent change of the control board. A control board replaced recently may expect a different code than the one the device remembers.
