What does Speed Queen error code E dL mean?

A frontload washer cannot run unless the door is locked, and it should not unlock the door while the drum is turning. The control times both actions. After the door is closed, it waits a set time for the lock to confirm. After a cycle ends, it waits a set time for the lock to release. If either takes too long, it reports a door lock error and shows E dL (display text: E dL). On the Quantum and the stacked unit, the limits are 15 seconds to lock and 3 minutes to unlock, while the CHM495R allows 10 seconds for each. The cycle will not start, or the load stays shut in. The manual lists door latch and strike alignment, the door lock switch and plug, the door gasket or debris at the latch, and the control lock output. A forced door is never the answer, and a door switch is never bypassed. On the stacked unit it reads E:dL.
