Speed Queen Washer Error Code E nFLo: No Water Flow
E nFLo means water did not arrive when the washer expected it. Check that the hot and cold faucets are fully open, and on a CHM1792C disconnect and reconnect power. If E nFLo returns, send a service request our way.
Medium: the fill stops and the cycle cannot continue until water arrives.

What does Speed Queen error code E nFLo mean?
E nFLo is the no-flow check, and it works differently by machine. On Quantum topload washers the control did not detect half an inch of water within the programmed time. On CHM1792C washer-extractors the water did not come up to the basket within five minutes, a limit that can be programmed off. In both cases the washer stops filling and the cycle cannot continue. This is a stricter, earlier alarm than the fill timeout, because it asks whether any meaningful water arrived at all. A tub that gets nothing points at the supply faucets and hoses, the inlet valves and screens, the pressure sensor reading, or the fill time setting. A tub that gets some water but not enough more likely fits a fill error than a no-flow one. The distinction helps in a laundry room: closed faucets or a shut building valve produce this code immediately, while a weak supply produces it only on machines with tighter timers.
Affected models and control systems
This page covers Quantum topload washers in the TLW13C family and CHM1792C family washer-extractors. Other Speed Queen controls report an empty fill differently.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- No water enters the tub
- The cycle stops soon after it starts
- E nFLo shows on the display
Possible causes
Listed in Speed Queen's documentation
- Supply faucets and hoses
- Inlet valves and screens
- Pressure sensor reading
- Fill time setting
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E nFLo on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A building water shutoff or a plumbing repair nearby that closed the supply to the whole room
- Inlet screens clogged with sediment after the water main was disturbed
Safe checks before calling for service
- Confirm the hot and cold supply faucets are fully open.
- On the CHM1792C, disconnect and reconnect power, as the owner's manual says.
- Keep the door or lid closed until its lock releases.
- If E nFLo returns, note whether water came in at all and send a service request our way.
How a technician diagnoses error code E nFLo
- Read the code and ask whether any water entered the tub.
- Check the faucets, building shutoff and the hoses for kinks.
- Clean the inlet screens and test the inlet valve coils when a fill is commanded.
- Check the pressure sensor reading at an empty tub and at a known level.
- Check the fill time setting and replace only the part that fails.
- The inlet valves and sensor are wired behind the panels at line voltage, and testing them live needs a trained technician.
- Pulling a washer from the wall to reach the hoses risks injury and a torn fitting.
- Whether the cause is supply, valve or sensor takes meter and flow tests.
How error code E nFLo differs from similar codes
E FL is the later fill timeout, while E nFLo reports that practically no water arrived.

Related Speed Queen washer error codes
Is E nFLo the same as E FL?
No. E nFLo reports almost no water arriving, while E FL reports a level not reached in time.
Can the building water cause it?
Yes. A shut valve or a supply interruption nearby will trigger it.
Can I restart?
Yes, after checking the faucets, but a repeat means the machine needs a look.
