Eio 43 means the board on a CHM1792C washer-extractor found the hot fill valve output shorted. It read a short on the circuit that powers the hot water valve and shut that output off, so the machine stops. Close the hot water supply to the machine, look for water on the floor without opening the cabinet, and ask us to schedule service.

What does Speed Queen error code Eio 43 mean?
The input and output board powers the hot water fill valve and watches the current in that circuit. If the circuit reads a short, meaning far more current than a valve coil should draw, the board shuts that output off at once to protect itself. Eio 43 is the result. The machine stops and the display holds the code. A shorted valve coil or its wiring is the usual place a short occurs, though a failed board output that drives it gives the same reading, and the manual lists the hot fill valve coil, the wiring and plug to the valve, and the output on the board. Because the output is switched off, the valve should not open, but a valve that is stuck open mechanically, or a supply left on, can still let water in, which is why we ask you to close the hot supply and look for water on the floor.
