UniMac Commercial Washer Error Code ME: Cycle Information Problem
ME on the WE-6 display means the computer detected a problem with the cycle information, and the cycle must be edited. It is recoverable. Correct the stored cycle data in programming mode.
Low: a problem with stored cycle data, and other cycles may still run.
What does UniMac error code ME mean?
The WE-6 runs a stored cycle made of steps, each with times, temperatures and options. When it reads the cycle and finds something wrong in the stored information, it shows ME and will not run it. The manual's remedy is to edit the cycle in programming mode and correct the data. Nothing in the water, drain, heating or door systems is involved, because the error lives entirely in the program. It usually follows a program edit that left a step incomplete, a cycle entered or copied wrongly, or stored data that was disturbed. After the cycle is corrected, the washer runs it again, so the repair is normally a few minutes at the keypad and not a service call for parts. Other cycles may still run normally, so one option while the damaged one is being fixed is to wash on a cycle that is known to be good.

What you may notice
- ME on the display
- One particular cycle will not start
- Other cycles still run normally
- Appears right after a program was edited
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code ME on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Cycle edited and left with an incomplete step
- Cycle copied or keyed in wrongly
- Stored cycle data disturbed
- Step values entered outside what the machine accepts
Safe checks before calling for service
- Select a different cycle to see whether only one is affected.
- Do not keep restarting the same cycle.
- Note which cycle number gives ME.
- Ask who last edited that cycle.
- Pass the cycle number to someone who can use programming mode.
How a technician diagnoses error code ME
- Confirm ME and the cycle number.
- Enter programming mode and open the cycle.
- Review each step for missing or impossible values.
- Correct the data and store it.
- Run the cycle and confirm it completes without ME.
- Programming mode changes how the washer runs, and a wrong value can set a wrong time or temperature.
- Correcting a cycle is easiest against the site's standard program sheet.
- A technician can compare the edited cycle with a working one.
How error code ME differs from similar codes
ME concerns stored cycle data. It is unrelated to water, temperature or the door.
