UniMac UC washer-extractors, from 20 to 100 pounds, use a front-end control with a motor drive. The display shows Ed codes when the drive reports a problem, and plain messages for door lock, fill and drain. The pocket hardmount UWL, UWN and UWU machines use a front-end control and an output board, and the UCA models add an I/O board and a drive board.
If a washer will not fill, we check the supply valves, the inlet screens and the level circuit, and hard water leaves scale in all of those. A drain alarm sends us to the drain valve or pump and the plumbing behind it. For a door lock error we look at the latch, the lock switch and the wiring harness.
The older UW machines with the UniLinc computer, and the UW60P2 with the WE-6, are legacy washers. Their tubs and bearings can last a long time, and we say plainly when a failed control or drive tips the repair against replacement.

The control saw the door unlocked during a cycle and stopped. Check that nothing is caught in the door, then close it again. If it repeats, we test the latch, switch and wiring.
How can I tell which UniMac washer I have?
Look at the data plate for the model number. UC and UCA numbers start with those letters, and UW and UWL numbers start with UW. Tell us the number and we match the parts.
My washer shows a leak message after the cycle. Is it flooding?
Not always. The control senses water where it should not be, such as in the base. Wipe up any water and check the hoses, then call us so we trace the leak.
