Nor-Lake LogiTemp Walk-In Door Alarm dor: Door Open Too Long
Dor is the door alarm on a Nor-Lake LogiTemp walk-in, shown when the door is open and the air is more than 0.5F above Room Temp for longer than the Door Alarm Delay. Close the door fully and check that it latches. If dor shows with the door closed, call us.
Low: an operator reminder that clears when the door is closed, and the system keeps running.

What does Nor-Lake error code Dor mean?
A walk-in cooler or freezer is only as good as its door. The LogiTemp controller watches a door switch and the box air temperature together. When the door is open and the air has risen more than 0.5F above Room Temp for longer than the Door Alarm Delay, the controller shows dor. The delay is a setting that gives staff time to load a delivery without setting off the alarm. The Split-Pak system keeps running, but warm air is pouring in, so the coil frosts up faster and the box warms. Often the door is simply ajar, held by a cart or a box, or not latched after a busy moment. Sometimes the door is shut and the alarm still shows, and that points to the closer, hinges or latch not pulling the door tight, a door switch or its wiring reading wrongly, a gasket and sweep that no longer seal, or a Door Alarm Delay that was set very short.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to the LogiTemp controller on Nor-Lake walk-in coolers and freezers with a Split-Pak system. The 0.5F comparison and Door Alarm Delay are controller settings.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- Dor on the display with an alarm sound or LED
- Warm air and condensation at the door
- Frost growing near the evaporator
- Door visibly ajar or not pulling shut
Possible causes
Listed in Nor-Lake's documentation
- Door left open or ajar past the Door Alarm Delay
- Door closer, hinges or latch that do not close the door
- Door switch or its wiring reading wrongly
- Gasket or sweep that no longer seals
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code Dor on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Heavy deliveries repeatedly stopping the door from swinging closed
- Door swollen or dropped on its hinges so the latch misses its keeper
- Door Alarm Delay left at a very short value after a controller reset
Safe checks before calling for service
- Close the walk-in door fully and check that it latches.
- Look for anything holding it open, such as a cart, a box or a bent door.
- Check the gasket for gaps.
- If dor shows with the door closed, note whether the door pulls shut by itself and call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code Dor
- Read dor and confirm the door state with the controller's door input.
- Check the closer, hinges and latch alignment.
- Test the door switch and its wiring with a meter.
- Inspect the gasket and sweep for gaps and replace if worn.
- Verify the Door Alarm Delay setting suits the way the box is used.
- Door switch wiring ties into the controller, where wrong steps can disable the alarm.
- Adjusting a heavy walk-in door and hinges needs tools and care to avoid injury.
- Changing the Door Alarm Delay without understanding your delivery pattern can hide a real problem.
How error code Dor differs from similar codes
Dor reports an open door with rising air temperature, so it differs from sensor alarms such as ASA, which report a bad reading.

Is dor a breakdown?
Often not. It is a reminder that the door is open too long, and closing the door usually clears it.
Why does dor show with the door closed?
The door may not be fully latched, or the switch may read wrongly. We check both.
Can I just raise the delay?
Please let us set it. A longer delay can hide a door that does not close.
