Repairs this series usually needs
- Door and sill damage
- Set point not holding
- Dirty condenser
- Gasket wear
- Panel not responding
The MCL roll-in refrigerators are built for 65 and 72 inch carts, with 42 numbers such as L1-1001, L2-2001 and L4-4001. They use an electronic panel. Pressing SET shows SP1, and pressing SET again shows the set point, which the arrows change. The display returns to the temperature after five seconds.
We check the door, the sill and the gasket first, since carts hit all three. Then we look at the condenser, the panel and the probe. A cabinet that will not hold its set point may have a gasket problem or a panel that is not reading the probe.
Tell us the number from the plate and what the panel shows. We also look at the heater light and the panel after the repair, to see that the set point holds through a full cycle.

SP1 is the set-point menu, not an error. Press SET again to see the set point, and the display returns to the temperature by itself after five seconds.
Do carts damage the door?
They can. Wheels and rack corners hit the lower door edge and the sill, which wears the gasket. We repair the door and replace the gasket as needed.
Can you repair the panel?
Yes. We check power and connections, test the probe and replace the panel if it is failing, with a written price first. We also check the heater light behind the display.
