Repairs this series usually needs
- One-, two- and three-beep alarms
- Low and high voltage alarms
- Float switch and water valve trouble
- Scale on the evaporator
- Condenser dirt and airflow
The KMD and KML cubers are the smaller modular models, including KMD-460, KMD-530, KML-250, KML-351, KML-451 and KML-631. They use the G control board. The last letters of the model number tell you whether the machine is air-cooled, water-cooled or remote-cooled.
These machines are often found under counters or on bins in smaller restaurants and bars. Tight spaces and kitchen grease clog condensers, and hard water leaves scale, so airflow and water quality are our first checks.
We read the beep count, test the float switch and valves, and look at the evaporator thermistor. Older units get honest advice on repair versus replacement. Tell us the full model number and the beep count when you book, and we plan the parts around that before we arrive.
About this series

It sounds beep codes and shows lights for alarms such as high evaporator temperature, harvest backup timer and freeze timer. Tell us the beep count when you call.
My unit is tucked into a tight space. Does that matter?
Yes. The condenser needs air, and boxed-in spaces trap heat. We check clearance and the condenser coil first, because heat drives several of these alarms and slows down ice making.
Which models can be remote-cooled?
The KMD-530 and KML-631 come in remote versions. Others in the family are air-cooled or water-cooled. The model number on the data plate tells us which yours is.
