The eikon e3 is an older Merrychef speed oven with a turntable. It uses a QTS touch screen and an SRB relay board, like the other eikon ovens. The turntable gives it its own test code, E091, which does not appear on the models without one.

The e3 shares the main E-number list with the e4 and e5: E101 for the magnetron, E102 for heater current, E103 and E104 for overheating, E106 for the cavity and E107 for the screen link. We start with the air filter and the vents, then the turntable support and drive, the fans, the heaters and the magnetron.

The e3 is an older line. We repair it and say plainly when the cost is more than the oven is worth.

What is E091 on an e3?

It is the recommission test result for the turntable. It means the turntable failed the test, often because it is out of place or its drive has a problem.

Does the e3 use the same codes as the e4?

Mostly yes. The main E-numbers match those of the e4 and e5. The turntable code E091 is the one that is specific to the e3, because the others have no turntable.

How do I keep an e3 from overheating?

Keep the air filter clean, leave 2 in clear around the oven and keep fryers and grills away from the lower-front air intake, which feeds the controls with cool air.
