The eikon e5 is the larger Merrychef speed oven, with two magnetrons. It uses the QTS touch screen and the SRB relay board like the other eikon ovens, and it shares the main E-number list with the e3 and e4.

With two magnetrons, a weak output shows up as slow cooking before it shows as a code. E101 and E093 point to a magnetron, E102 and E116 to the heater, E103, E104 and E117 to heat, and E107 to the screen link. We clean the filter, check the vents and fans, then test each magnetron and the heater.

The e5 is in both current and older kitchens. We say plainly when a repair is not worth it, and we write the price before work, so the decision stays with you.

Why does cooking slow down on an e5?

A weak magnetron is the usual reason. With two of them, the oven can still cook, only more slowly, until the second one is also weak.

Which codes are specific to the e5?

The e5 uses the same main E-number list as the e3 and e4, with no special codes of its own in the list we follow.

How can I protect the magnetrons?

Keep the air filter clean, keep the vents clear and keep heat sources away from the oven. Overheating shortens magnetron life, so the cheapest protection is airflow.
