The WMF 5000 S+ is a fully automatic coffee machine with twin grinders. Options include a chocolate and powder unit and the Easy Milk or Dynamic Milk systems. Look for 5000 S+ or 5000 S on the front or the data plate. Problems show as numeric codes such as 88 for the boiler, 161 for brewing water flow and 9678 for the right grinder.
On this machine we begin with the water tap and the hoses, then the grinders and the grind setting, since a fine grind slows brewing water and a stone stops a grinder. On milk machines we look at the hose, the cooler setting and the milk system, and for the chocolate unit we check the portioner.

What does code 161 mean?
It is a flow error in the brewing water. The owner's manual points to a grind that is too fine or a recipe set too strong. We check those and the water path.
Which grinder is code 9678?
9678 and 9679 are the right grinder and 9619 is the left. All three mean the grinder is blocked. Unplug the machine and follow the manual's hopper steps, or call us.
Can you service the milk and chocolate options?
