Scotsman Lines We Service
Restaurants, hotels and clinics all run Scotsman machines. The current Prodigy ELITE MC series has a seven-segment code display, an ICELINQ Bluetooth app and a memory of the last ten error codes. Behind it are the Prodigy and Prodigy Plus C series with Power, Status, Water and De-Scale lights, Prodigy Plus FS flake and NH and NS nugget machines, and the Eclipse EH remote low-side cubers with ECC condensing units. Older CME AutoIQ cubers, CU undercounters, Meridian HID dispensers and MDT flakers are still in service too.
Scotsman limits the ELITE to air from 50 to 100 degrees F, water from 40 to 100 degrees F and water pressure from 20 to 80 psi. Summer heat in a tight equipment room pushes the first number, and weak supply pressure works against the last. Scale shows up as a de-scale light, slow fills and thin cubes.
The Controller Code Comes First
The controller code tells us where to look. Code 1 is a maximum freeze time, 2 a maximum harvest time, 3 a slow water fill, 4 a high discharge temperature and 8 a short freeze. We then check the water strainer and inlet valve, scale, the condenser and, on flake and nugget units, the auger. Many codes reset by turning the machine off and on, though a reset only buys time until the cause is found.
On older CME and early Prodigy machines we weigh repair cost against age and tell you plainly. The price is in writing before work, and we warrant our workmanship for 30 days.

Can you repair an old CME Scotsman?
Yes. CME AutoIQ cubers use BIN FULL, FREEZE, HARVEST and CLEAN lights plus water and refrigeration diagnostic lights, and we know how to read them. We also tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.
Does Scotsman ice need regular descaling?
Yes. The Prodigy controller turns on a de-scale light when the machine needs cleaning, and scale builds up quickly in hard water if it is ignored. We can descale and clean it during a repair visit.
