Kold-Draft Ice Machine Repair
We repair Kold-Draft clear-cube ice makers in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, including current 60 Series GT and GB machines and older relay-controlled models. We start with the controller code and the water plate.
Common Kold-Draft problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Ice not releasing from the water plate
Freeze cycle too long or too short
Water fill never finishes
Harvest ending too early or late
Dirty condenser, high head pressure
Ice bin full light mistaken for trouble
Kold-Draft Series and Controller Codes
Bars and upscale restaurants buy Kold-Draft for its large, clear cubes. The current 60 Series covers GT36x and GT56x cubers and GB56x and GB106x machines, in self-contained air- or liquid-cooled form or remote with an RC214APV or RC314APV condenser. The electronic controller shows codes from 10 to 90 on LEDs. Code 20 points to the water plate, 30 and 40 to a freeze cycle that is too long or too short, 50 to a harvest cycle over 20 minutes, and 60 to a long fill. Code 90 is only a full bin.
Older 30, 40 and 50 Series machines and 50 Hz export models use relay controls and have no code display, so diagnosis means testing the timer, relays and bin thermostat step by step. Kold-Draft machines of every age are built to last. That is why so many still make ice, and why parts and patience are often better value than replacement.
Room Heat and Our Checks
Kold-Draft wants the room between 45 and 90 degrees F. Above that, capacity drops and head pressure rises, and many bar back rooms exceed it in summer. We check the condenser, water supply, float and probes for scale, and the evaporator temperature dial, which sets harvest termination between 35 and 60 degrees F.
When an older machine is past a sensible repair, we say so before work begins. Expect a written price first and 30 days of workmanship warranty after.

Is it broken?
No. Code 90 is the bin full indicator. The machine is telling you the bin is full and has paused. If it shows 90 with an empty bin, we check the bin probe.
Why are the cubes not releasing from the plate?
Code 20 points to the water plate not closing or raising properly. We check the plate movement, evaporator temperature and harvest setting before replacing parts.
Do you repair older Kold-Draft machines without a display?
Yes. Older 30, 40 and 50 Series and 50 Hz models use relays and timers, and we test them step by step. We tell you honestly if the age makes a repair a poor choice.
