Market Forge Models We Repair
A lot of the Market Forge steamers we see are older machines, and we are comfortable with them. The Steam-Tech ST-3E and ST-6E countertop boilerless electric steamers are the most common, followed by Steam-Tech Plus STP-6E and STP-6G cookers, ET and ETP compartment steamers in electric and gas, and PS and TS convection steamers. The newer STE series and the kettles, from two-thirds to full jacketed sizes in direct steam, electric and gas, make up the rest of our work.
Indicator Lights, Generators and Scale
These steamers communicate through indicator lights, not numbered codes. A red CLEAN GENERATOR light means scale has built up. If it stays on after a delime, we look at the reset button, the thermostat and the latching relay. These steamers call for Total Clean liquid delimer, and we follow the delime steps in order. A green READY light tells you the unit is up to temperature.
When the generator will not fill, we test the water level control board and the low-water cut-off. The Steam-Tech boards expect about 120 volts at the L1 and L2 terminals, so we measure incoming power before blaming the board. A generator that does not drain at power off usually has a clogged drain line or hole, or a drain solenoid problem. A unit that will not hold temperature points to the hold thermostat, a switch or the timer.
Hard water in Los Angeles, San Diego and Houston is rough on a steam generator. You get a written price first, an honest word when a very old unit is past repair, and a 30-day warranty on our work.

The reset button, thermostat or latching relay may be holding it on. Make sure the delime steps were finished and the unit has cooled. If the light stays on, call us and we will test each part.
Can you repair an older Market Forge Steam-Tech steamer?
Yes. We repair ST-3E, ST-6E and STP units that are still in service. We check the water level board and generator first, and we tell you when a repair is not worth the cost.
Why will my Market Forge steamer not hold temperature?
The hold thermostat, a switch or the timer is the usual cause. Check that the doors are shut and the unit is on, then call us and we will test those parts in order.
