Common Champion glasswashers problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Glasses come out cloudy
Wash water too cool
Chemical alarm sounds
Display shows E
Water does not fill the tank
Champion makes glasswashers in the CG family. The CG4 and CG6 are pass-through and rotary machines that sit behind busy bars. Many bars also use a UL130 low-temperature or a UH130B high-temperature undercounter for glassware, and those machines have the M4 temperature display with Lo, H HH and E readings.
Cloudy glassware is usually hard water, rinse aid or lime scale. We check the chemical supply, the delime routine and the wash and rinse temperatures. On the undercounters, a Lo reading tells us the water is under 100 degrees F, and an E points to a thermistor or its wiring. The M4 control also has an added-chemical alarm, so an empty container is one of the first things we rule out.
The CG machines are the ones we see most often behind the bar, and a rinse that is too weak or too cool shows up first as spotty glasses. A tank that fills slowly is another early sign, and we test the fill valve, the level control and the water supply to the machine. If the unit is an older one, we tell you plainly whether the repair is worth it. We give a written price before any repair and a 30-day warranty on our work.

Why are the glasses from my Champion glasswasher cloudy?
Hard water, rinse aid and lime scale are the usual causes. Check the chemical containers and start the delime routine if it is due. If the cloudiness stays, call us and we test temperatures and the chemical feed.
Can a Champion undercounter wash glasses?
The UH130B and UL130 undercounters are commonly used for glassware. They show wash and rinse temperatures on the display, which helps us find a problem quickly. Call us with the model and the reading.
