Speed Queen Commercial Washer Error Code EC:2b: Flash Checksum Failed
EC:2b means the reader's built-in flash checksum test failed. The manual says to treat it as a bad card reader that may need replacing. It is a job for a technician.
Medium: card payments are unreliable until the reader is replaced, and the manual lists no hazard.

What does Speed Queen error code EC:2b mean?
Flash memory holds the reader's program. To make sure that program has not been damaged, the reader calculates a checksum, which is a kind of fingerprint of the stored data, and compares it to the expected value. If they do not match, the test fails and the washer displays EC:2b with the text “Diagnostic Test Flash Checksum Failure”.
In practice it means the reader's stored software is not what it should be. The manual does not go beyond saying that the built-in flash checksum test failed and that the card reader may need to be replaced. It lists no causes and gives no operator reset. Because the problem lives inside the reader's own program, nothing done to the card, the washer's cycle settings or the front panel is expected to help. The lowercase b in the code is how the manual prints it.
