Meat Slicer Repair in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego
A slicer needs a sharp, true blade and a sound guard to cut safely. We repair deli and kitchen slicers and tell you plainly what is worn before any work starts.
Which slicers do you have?
Pick the maker on the data plate: each page lists its problems, codes and model series. Not on the list? Call us; we repair other makers too.
Common slicers problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Slices ragged or uneven
Blade will not turn or stalls
Carriage sticking or dragging
Sharpener will not engage
Thickness gauge will not hold
Grinding or squealing from the motor
Delis, grocery stores, restaurants, hotels and school kitchens use slicers to cut meat, cheese and produce. They range from light-duty countertop models to heavy gravity-feed and manual machines, and each has a motor, a drive belt or gear, a round blade, a carriage, a gauge plate, a sharpener and safety guards.
What wears a slicer out
Daily washdowns and a damp kitchen are hard on it. Moisture reaches bearings, switches and the motor, and residue builds up in the carriage and gauge areas. Hard water leaves scale on the parts you clean, and heat and a wet floor speed up corrosion and wear on belts and seals.
We start with power and the safety interlocks, then check the blade for wear and the bearings for play. After that we look at the belt or gear drive, carriage movement, gauge plate and sharpener. A rough cut can come from several causes, so we test before replacing anything.
Repair or replace, and what to have ready
If the frame and motor are sound, a new blade, belt or bearing is usually sensible. If the casting is cracked or the gauge cannot hold, we explain the options. Keep the model label or data plate handy for the call.
Never remove a guard, reach near the blade or sharpen it without training, and unplug the slicer before cleaning.

A dull blade, a worn carriage, a loose gauge plate or a slipping belt can all cause it. What you see does not tell us which, so we inspect the blade, carriage and drive before recommending a repair.
Is it safe to keep using a slicer with a damaged guard?
No. A missing or cracked guard or interlock makes a slicer unsafe. Stop using it, follow your food-safety plan, and call us. Do not bypass or remove a safety part.
Can you repair an older slicer?
Yes. Many slicers last for decades with the right care. We check the blade, motor, belt, carriage and safeties, give a written price before work, and tell you honestly if the repair no longer pays.
