Imperial Commercial Range Repair
We repair Imperial heavy-duty gas ranges in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego, including the IHR and IR Series. These ranges can last for decades, and we help you decide when a repair is worth it.
Common Imperial ranges problems
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Oven pilot will not stay lit
Burner flames are yellow
Burner will not light
Oven temperature is off
Low simmer will not hold
The Imperial IHR heavy-duty ranges, including the IHR-4 and IHR-6, have open burners with a low simmer setting, manual valves and an oven with a safety pilot. The IR Series, such as the IR-6 and IR-4-G12, is also gas. Suffixes such as -C, -XB and -M indicate the base style.
When the oven pilot will not stay lit, we check the pilot flame, the thermocouple and the safety valve. A low simmer that will not hold may come from a dirty pilot or burner orifice, or a worn valve. Burners that light unevenly or burn yellow need their ports cleaned and the air adjusted. If the oven temperature is off, we measure the oven and compare it with the dial before replacing the thermostat.
Imperial ranges often outlast the kitchens that installed them, so we confirm parts before the visit and tell you what is available. If you smell gas, clear the kitchen and call the gas utility once you are outside. You get a written price first, and every repair has a 30-day warranty on our work.

What does the safety pilot do on an Imperial range oven?
It holds the oven gas valve open only while the pilot flame is lit. If the pilot goes out, the gas stops. We test the pilot, thermocouple and valve when it will not hold, and give a written price first.
What do the -C, -XB and -M suffixes mean on an Imperial range?
They indicate different base styles on the range. Give us the full model from the data plate when you book, and we confirm parts for that range before we arrive.
Can you adjust the low simmer on my Imperial burner?
Yes. We clean the burner and pilot, check the valve, and adjust the low setting so it holds without going out. You get a written price first.
