Nor-Lake Walk-In Error Code dtH: High Door Temp Alarm
DtH on a Nor-Lake Split-Pak walk-in with a LogiTemp or KE2 Evap controller means the door temperature has been above its setpoint plus offset for longer than the alarm delay. Check that the door is closed and sealing. The manual's Troubleshooting Tables give the corrective actions.
Medium: the box may be fine, but a warm door can let in moisture and warm air.

What does Nor-Lake error code DtH mean?
DtH is the High Door Temp Alarm on the LogiTemp electronic controller used with Nor-Lake Split-Pak refrigeration systems. The combo display reads a sensor at the door. The controller adds an offset to the door temperature setpoint, and if the sensor reading stays above that sum for longer than the alarm delay, it shows dtH with the scrolling text DOOR TEMP HIGH. The two conditions, level and time, keep a short door opening from setting it off. The manual's list states the meaning and no more. The corrective actions are in the Troubleshooting Tables starting on page 52, which this page does not quote. In plain terms, the area at the door is warmer than the controller expects. A door left ajar, a worn gasket or a door heater that is running too hard could do that, but the list does not say which applies.
Affected models and control systems
DtH is listed for the LogiTemp and KE2 Evap OEM controller on Nor-Lake Split-Pak refrigeration systems with A1 refrigerants, in the Alarms and Notifications list printed on pages 48-52. The setpoint, offset and delay are controller settings.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- DtH or DOOR TEMP HIGH on the display
- Condensation or sweating at the door frame
- Door area feeling warm
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code DtH on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Door temperature above its setpoint plus offset for longer than the alarm delay
- Door held open or not latching fully
- Door gasket worn so warm air leaks in
- Door heater staying on too long and warming the frame
Safe checks before calling for service
- Close and latch the door and check the gasket for gaps.
- Check that nothing blocks the door from sealing, such as pallet wrap or a crate.
- Look for sweating or frost at the frame.
- Wait to see whether dtH clears when the door area cools.
- Write down the door temperature shown and when dtH began, for the technician.
How a technician diagnoses error code DtH
- Read the alarm and the door temperature value.
- Check the setpoint, offset and delay settings.
- Check the door seals and closing action.
- Check door heater operation, if fitted, with a meter.
- Verify the door sensor reading against a thermometer.
- Look up the manual's Troubleshooting Tables entry for dtH.
- Door heaters and their controls run on line voltage.
- Setpoint and offset parameters are service settings.
- A sensor reading that is wrong can only be proven with a reference thermometer and meter.
How error code DtH differs from similar codes
DtH is the high side and dtL is the low side of the door temperature pair. DtS is a sensor failure, not a temperature alarm.

Can I use the walk-in with dtH?
Yes if the box holds temperature, but find out why the door is warm.
Will dtH go away by itself?
It should when the door temperature falls back within limits.
Is dtH the same as a box high temperature alarm?
No. It is about the door sensor only.
