ALrn is the break-in alarm on Quantum frontload and topload washers. The control saw the door switch or coin vault switch report an opening it did not expect. Latch the vault door and shut the washer door fully, then call us if the alarm stays.

What does Speed Queen error code ALrn mean?
This display is about access, not water or the drive. The Quantum control watches the door switch and the coin vault switch, and it expects them to agree with what the washer is doing. If one reports an opening at a moment that should not allow it, the control treats that as possible tampering with the machine or its cash box and shows ALrn (display text: ALrn). On the topload control the alarm may read slightly differently on the display. The reading may be right, for example when the vault door was not latched after collecting coins, or it may be wrong because a switch is stuck or worn, a plug has loosened, or the control misreads a switch. The manual lists the coin vault door, door switch behavior, the wiring and plugs of both switches, and the control logic that reads them. A locked door stays locked, and a door switch is never jumped. The alarm concerns security only; it tells you nothing about the wash cycle.
