Speed Queen Commercial Washer Error Code EC:2E: Firmware Damaged
EC:2E means a card reader firmware update failed and the reader software is damaged. The manual calls it bad firmware in the reader and says the reader may need replacing. Expect card payments to be down until then.
Medium: with the reader software damaged, card payment is likely unavailable until the reader is replaced.

What does Speed Queen error code EC:2E mean?
This is the more serious twin of EC:2d. During a firmware update the reader's program is rewritten. If that process fails partway, the reader can be left with software that is incomplete or broken. EC:2E is the washer's way of reporting exactly this, with the display text “Firmware Update Failed, S/W Not Intact”.
The manual calls the condition bad firmware in the reader and says the card reader may need to be replaced. With software that is not intact, the reader cannot be relied on to read or write cards, so payments are likely to be unavailable. No causes are listed, and the manual gives no operator reset. Anyone who attempted the update should be asked what happened: an outage, an interrupted connection or an error message during loading would be useful for the technician to hear before arriving.
