Victory Freezer Error Code AH2: High Temperature 2 Alarm
AH2 on a Victory FS or FSA freezer means the temperature has risen above the second high limit. Check the door, the stored product and whether the freezer is cooling. If AH2 stays, call a technician.
High: the cabinet is above its second high limit, so frozen product is at risk until the cause is fixed.

What does Victory error code AH2 mean?
AH2 is the second high temperature alarm in the alarm table for Victory FS and FSA hydrocarbon freezers. The Eliwell-type controller keeps alarm limits for the cabinet probe. When the temperature rises above the first limit, a high temperature alarm can appear, and AH2 is a separate, second limit that has also been crossed. The manual describes it as temperature that has risen above the second high limit. It does not say what the limit value is, how long the controller waits before showing it, or what the operator should do. Those details are in enabling parameters that the table only names. So this page can say what the code reports but not the cause. A temperature this far above normal might come from a door left open, a loaded warm product, a stopped condenser fan or a refrigeration problem, but the manual does not link AH2 to any of those. It simply tells you that the cabinet is warmer than the second limit permits.
Affected models and control systems
AH2 is listed for Victory FS and FSA hydrocarbon freezers with an Eliwell-type controller and probes Pb1 to Pb5, in the alarm table on printed pages 18-19. The second high limit is a controller parameter, so the temperature at which it appears depends on the unit's setup.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- AH2 on the controller display
- Alarm LED lit and possibly an audible alert
- Stored product feeling soft or the cabinet reading warm
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code AH2 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Door left ajar or gasket not sealing, letting room air in
- Large load of warm product placed in the freezer
- Condenser coil blocked or fan stopped so the freezer cannot remove heat
Safe checks before calling for service
- Make sure the door is fully shut and not held open by product.
- Check that nothing blocks air flow inside the cabinet.
- Check the condenser area at the front or back for dust or blocked air flow, without opening any panels.
- Look at the product and move anything at risk to another freezer.
- Write down the temperature shown, when AH2 began and whether the door was open recently, for the technician.
How a technician diagnoses error code AH2
- Read the alarm and history, comparing the controller reading with a calibrated thermometer.
- Verify the second high limit and delay parameters against the unit's data.
- Check door seals, evaporator frost and fan operation.
- Check condenser airflow and the condensing unit for normal running.
- Check the refrigeration circuit performance with gauges suited to the refrigerant used.
- Replace a part only after the test shows it failed.
- Cooling failures in this model involve a flammable hydrocarbon refrigerant circuit that needs trained handling.
- Testing fans, relays and the compressor means working inside powered compartments.
- Changing alarm limits without the unit's data can hide a real temperature problem.
How error code AH2 differs from similar codes
AH2 is the second, higher limit. A first high temperature limit exists separately in the same table, so seeing AH2 means the cabinet is warmer than that earlier alarm level.

Can I keep the freezer running while AH2 shows?
It will run, but product safety is the concern. Check temperature with a thermometer and move frozen food if it is warming.
Does AH2 clear when the freezer cools?
The manual lists the reset type in its table, which we do not repeat. In general the alarm reflects the current temperature.
Is AH2 an emergency?
It is a high priority warning for stored product. It is not a safety hazard to people, but food can spoil.
