HyPerSteam steamers are the Groen line you see on counters and cabinet stands in many kitchens. The data plate shows a number such as HY-5E, HY-6G or the two-high 2HY-5EF.
These units depend on clean water and a clean generator. When the service light comes on or the cabinet will not heat, we begin with the water supply and its screen, then the generator and its probes for scale. A tripped high limit leads us back to scale or a door left open. On gas versions we also test ignition and the burner, and a gas odor sends everyone out of the kitchen to phone the gas company.

It is on the data plate. Numbers start with HY, such as HY-3E or HY-6G, and a leading 2 means a double stack. Have the whole number ready when you call, and we confirm parts first.
What does the service light mean on my steamer?
The generator is not filling or not producing steam. Check that water is on and the unit is not scaled, then call us if the light stays on.
Can a gas HyPerSteam be repaired on site?
Yes. We test ignition, the burner and the controls at your location. If you smell gas, get everyone out, phone the gas company from outdoors, and then call us to schedule the repair.
