This is the older SmartSteam 100 boilerless gas steamer. The plate reads SSB-5G. It came before the touchscreen SmartSteam Pro, and some kitchens still run one.
With a gas steamer that has a display, the message on screen is where we begin. Tell us what it showed, and we then go through ignition, burner, water fill and controls. Weak steam often traces back to scale in the cabinet. The smell of gas overrides everything here: everyone out, then a call to the gas company from the sidewalk.
Older lines can mean a wait for parts, so we find out what is obtainable before we come. When repair makes sense we do it, and when it does not, we say so. Please read us the model number from the data plate at booking.

Note exactly what the display says, turn the unit off, and then phone us. If you notice gas in the air, go outside and phone the gas company ahead of calling us.
