- SGH50
- SGH50T
Repairs this series usually needs
- No heat with HEAT FAIL or IGNITION FAILURE
- Probe messages from the control
- Drain switch message holding off the burner
- Ignition module not firing
- Slow recovery between batches
The SGH50 is the 50 pound Solstice gas fryer system from Pitco. Check the data plate for SGH50 or SGH50T. Like the other Solstice fryers it uses a computer, digital or solid state control, so the way a problem is shown depends on which control you have.
If an SGH50 will not heat, we begin with the heat signal and the gas supply, then the ignition module and hi-limit. Probe messages send us to the probe lead, and a drain message to the proximity switch and the valve handle. We confirm that the oil level is where it should be, since the fryer protects itself when the vat is low.
An SGH50 that has seen years of service is still worth a look. We quote first and say so if the repair is not sensible.

What size is an SGH50?
It is a 50 pound gas fryer system. The data plate shows SGH50 or SGH50T. We use that number to match parts for your fryer.
Why does my SGH50 take so long to come to temperature?
Slow heating can come from the burner, the probe or the limit. We test the heat signal and the burner first and give you a written price before we begin.
Can you service the SGH50 with filtration?
Yes. We check the heating side and the drain together, since the drain switch has to agree with the control before the burner will fire.
