Victory Refrigerator Error Code E1-E7: VCC Probe Problems
On Victory reach-ins with the VCC controller, E1 through E7 report a probe that is not reporting or is disconnected. The number tells us which probe, so write the code down exactly and call us.
Medium: a missing probe can change compressor cycling or defrost, so temperature should be watched.

What does Victory error code E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 / E5 / E6 / E7 mean?
On Victory reach-ins with the VCC controller, such as the RSA-1D-S1-HC, RSA-2D-S1-HC and RIS-1D-S1-HC, the display can show E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 / E5 / E6 / E7. They report a probe that is not reporting or disconnected. The numbers match alarm numbers one through seven: probes 1 to 5, plus the S1H and S2H probes. The controller expects a steady reading from each probe it uses, and when a reading goes missing it shows the matching code. What the cabinet does next depends on the probe's job. A cabinet air probe loss changes how the compressor cycles, while a coil probe loss changes how defrost ends. The manual lists a loose connector on the probe named by the code, a disconnected probe wire between the cabinet and the controller, a failed probe input on the controller, and a probe lead pinched at the door frame or iced. Since the number identifies the probe, it also tells us which part to carry.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to Victory reach-ins with the VCC controller in the RS, RIS, HS and ACRS lines, such as the RSA-1D-S1-HC, RSA-2D-S1-HC and RIS-1D-S1-HC.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- E1 to E7 on the display
- Cabinet air drifting from its normal range
- Compressor cycling oddly
- Defrost that ends too early or too late
Possible causes
Listed in Victory's documentation
- A loose connector on the probe named by the VCC code
- A disconnected probe wire between the Victory cabinet and the VCC controller
- A failed probe input on the VCC controller
- A probe lead pinched at the door frame or iced
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 / E5 / E6 / E7 on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A probe wire pulled loose when the cabinet was cleaned or moved
- Ice around the coil probe lead from a defrost that does not finish
- A connector corroded by cleaning chemicals or condensation
Safe checks before calling for service
- Write down the code exactly as shown.
- Check the food with a thermometer a few times a day until we arrive.
- Keep the doors closed as much as possible.
- Call us to schedule service and tell us the code and your model number. Photograph the display for us.
How a technician diagnoses error code E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 / E5 / E6 / E7
- Read the code and map it to the probe, 1 to 5 or S1H and S2H.
- Inspect the connector and the lead for disconnects, pinching and ice.
- Measure the probe resistance against the temperature table.
- Check the controller input with a known-good probe.
- Replace the probe, wiring or controller only after the test.
- Probe work happens beside mains-powered controls and fans.
- Telling a failed probe from a failed input needs a meter and a reference probe.
- A wrong repair can leave the cabinet running too cold or too warm.
How error code E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 / E5 / E6 / E7 differs from similar codes
On the Victory FS family the same E1 to E5 codes cover probes Pb1 to Pb5 only. The VCC list runs to E7 because it also covers the S1H and S2H probes.

What does E5 mean?
E5 is the fifth probe. The number matches the probe's alarm number.
Will the cabinet keep cooling?
It may, but check the temperature, since the control has lost a reading it needs.
Is this the same as E1 to E5 on the FS family?
Similar, but the VCC list goes up to E7 and includes the S1H and S2H probes.
