Victory Refrigerator Error Code EHI / ELO: Supply Voltage Alarms
EHI and ELO are the high and low power supply voltage alarms. The control measures the voltage reaching the cabinet and warns you when it is too high or too low for the compressor and fan motors. Check the plug and the circuit, and read the product with a thermometer.
Medium: the supply is outside the motors' range, and the compressor may cut out and let the cabinet warm.

What does Victory error code EHI / ELO mean?
On Victory reach-ins with the VCC controller, such as the RSA-1D-S1-HC, the controller measures the voltage that reaches the cabinet. EHI means it is too high and ELO means it is too low for the compressor and fan motors. Motors run hotter and draw more current when voltage drifts, so a cabinet stressed by that can overheat or shut down, and the compressor may be cutting out. Voltage swings are common after storms or when many loads switch on together. The manual lists voltage at the outlet or breaker, a circuit shared with other equipment, a loose plug or worn outlet, and the controller's own voltage measurement. A plug that is not fully seated, or an outlet that has gone loose, adds resistance and drops voltage under load. A cabinet sharing a circuit with a heavy load can sag whenever that load starts. Read the product with a thermometer, since a compressor that cuts out lets the cabinet warm.
Affected models and control systems
This applies to Victory reach-in cabinets with the VCC controller, for example the RSA-1D-S1-HC.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- EHI or ELO on the display
- Compressor starting and stopping more than usual
- Lights or other loads dimming on the same circuit
- Cabinet air creeping upward
Possible causes
Listed in Victory's documentation
- Voltage at the outlet or breaker
- A circuit shared with other equipment
- A loose plug or worn outlet
- Voltage measurement on the controller
Other likely causes — what usually sits behind error code EHI / ELO on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- A long extension or undersized circuit that drops voltage when the compressor starts
- A heat-damaged plug or outlet that has high resistance
- A utility voltage that runs high at night when other loads are off
Safe checks before calling for service
- Check the supply voltage if you have a meter, or ask an electrician to.
- Make sure the plug is fully seated.
- Make sure the cabinet is not sharing a circuit with a heavy load.
- Read the product with a thermometer. If the alarm repeats, note when it appears and call us.
How a technician diagnoses error code EHI / ELO
- Read the alarm and note whether it is EHI or ELO.
- Measure voltage at the outlet with the compressor idle and running.
- Inspect the plug, cord and outlet for heat damage or looseness.
- Check the circuit loading and breaker rating for the cabinet.
- Compare the controller voltage reading with the meter before replacing the control.
- Voltage testing at an outlet or breaker involves live mains circuits.
- A sagging circuit or damaged outlet is an electrical repair that belongs to a licensed electrician.
- Running a compressor on out-of-range voltage can damage the motor windings.

Is EHI worse than ELO?
Both stress the motors. High voltage overheats, and low voltage makes motors draw more current.
Can storms cause this?
Yes. Voltage swings often follow storms or heavy loads switching together.
Should I move the plug to another outlet?
Only on a circuit meant for the cabinet. A different circuit can show whether the supply is the cause.
