The Solstice SG is Pitco’s gas tube fryer in 14 and 18 inch widths. The data plate reads SG14 or SG18, sometimes followed by a letter such as R, T or F for features like filtration. The control may be the computer, the digital solid state or the primary solid state version, and each shows problems in its own way.
When an SG will not heat we follow the heat signal from the control through the hi-limit and ignition module to the flame. Probe messages send us to the probe and its lead, and drain messages to the proximity switch and its gap. We also look at the oil level, since a low vat can trip the limit.
Older SG fryers are common in kitchens, and we repair them.

How do I tell which control my SG has?
Look at the front. The computer control has a display with text, the digital version shows short coded words, and the solid state version uses lights. We confirm it from the model label.
Why does my SG say HEAT FAIL?
The control did not get a heat signal back within about 90 seconds. The hi-limit, ignition module or relay in that path may be open, and we test them in order.
Do you repair older SG fryers?
Yes. Older SG fryers are still in service in many kitchens, and we repair them. We quote in writing first and tell you plainly if a repair is not worth the money.
