Repairs this series usually needs

  1. Ignition lockout
  2. Air vent blockage or no blower pressure
  3. Flame with no call for heat
  4. -1F or -99F probe readings
  5. Water level and fill problems

The Evolution gas and propane steamers are AccuTemp steamers heated by a power burner with a spark ignition module. They are sold as E3 and E6 sizes and the Evolution N6. The plate has the model.

The ignition module has an LED that flashes a pattern, and the number of flashes tells us where to start: air flow, flame with no call for heat, or lockout with no gas. We also check the water side, because the water level board is the same one used on the electric steamer.

With gas in the air, head outdoors and phone the gas company. Never open panels or touch gas parts yourself. The gas side is serviced only by us, and we explain what we find in plain words.

About this series

FAQAccuTemp Evolution Gas and Propane Steamers questions
How do I tell what the ignition LED means?

Count the flashes. One points to air flow, two to flame with no call for heat, and three to a lockout with no gas. Tell us the count when you call and we start in the right place.

Natural gas or propane?

Both exist. The data plate says which fuel your steamer is built for. We service natural gas and propane steamers, and we confirm parts for your model before the visit.

Is it safe to use after a lockout?

Don't keep trying. If you smell gas, evacuate the kitchen and phone the gas company from outdoors. Otherwise switch the steamer off and call us to test the ignition safely.
