Coffee Grinder Repair in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and San Diego
A coffee grinder must hold its setting and cut cleanly. We repair on-demand and bulk grinders for cafes, restaurants and shops and explain what is worn before you approve parts.
Which coffee grinders do you have?
Pick the maker on the data plate: each page lists its problems, codes and model series. Not on the list? Call us; we repair other makers too.
Common coffee grinders problems we fix
In plain words, the way kitchen and laundry staff describe them when they call.
Grind uneven or gone coarse
Grinder stopping or humming without turning
Beans jamming in the hopper or chute
Motor smelling hot or burnt
Doser leaking or sticking
Adjustment collar will not move
Commercial coffee grinders include on-demand espresso grinders, doserless models, doser grinders, bulk grinders for retail beans and large flat or conical burr machines. Cafes, restaurants, hotels, offices and specialty shops depend on them. A grinder has a motor, a pair of burrs, an adjustment, a hopper and a switch.
How grinders wear
Burrs dull gradually, and oil and fine dust build up in the chute. Humid air changes the moisture in the beans and inside the grinder, and heat plus humidity corrode switches and wiring. A power event can stress the motor, especially on a busy counter.
We check the power and switch, the motor, the burrs for wear, the alignment and adjustment mechanism, the hopper and the doser. Uneven grinds and stalls each have several possible causes, and the cup cannot name one, so we test before suggesting a repair.
Repair or replace, and what to have ready
If the motor and housing are sound, new burrs or a switch are usually worthwhile. If the motor is worn out or the housing is cracked, we explain what a new grinder would involve. Check the data plate or model label before you call, and we take it from there.
Unplug the grinder before cleaning, and never reach into the burr area yourself.
Coffee grinders lines we service
Current and older lines, with the model numbers in each.
Why is my grind uneven even after cleaning?
Worn burrs are the usual reason, but a loose burr carrier, a stuck adjustment collar or built-up oil can also cause it. The grind alone does not tell us which, so we inspect the burrs and the adjustment before recommending parts.
Do burrs wear out?
Yes. Burrs dull with use, and the cup shows it first. We check wear, alignment and the setting, explain whether the burrs can be replaced, and give a written price before work.
Can you repair an older grinder?
Yes. Many grinders last for years. We check the motor, burrs, switch and doser, give a written price, and tell you honestly if replacing the grinder makes more sense.
