Victory Freezer Error Code LoP: Low Voltage Alarm
LoP on a Victory FS or FSA freezer means the supply voltage is below the allowed limit. Make sure the freezer is not on an extension cord or an overloaded circuit, then have the supply checked if the code stays.
Medium: the freezer may run, but low voltage can stall or overheat the compressor.

What does Victory error code LoP mean?
LoP is the low voltage alarm in the Victory FS and FSA alarm table. The Eliwell-type controller keeps an eye on the voltage it is receiving. When that voltage sags below the limit, the controller shows LoP. The manual's wording is simply that the supply voltage is below the allowed limit. It gives no figure, no delay, no cause and no operator action; the table lists only the LED, relay, reset type and enabling parameters. A low supply is a concern for a freezer because the compressor needs full voltage to start against its load, and a motor that tries to start on low voltage can draw heavy current and trip its protection. A brownout from the utility, a circuit loaded by other kitchen machines, or a long thin cord can all produce it. The display cannot tell them apart.
Affected models and control systems
LoP is listed for Victory FS and FSA hydrocarbon freezers with an Eliwell-type controller and probes Pb1 to Pb5, in the alarm table on printed pages 18-19. The low voltage limit is a controller parameter, so the voltage at which it appears depends on the unit's setup.
Code numbers and their meaning can change between control generations. We match the full model and control before acting on a code.
What you may notice
- LoP on the controller display
- Alarm LED on
- Compressor hard to start or tripping off and on
Possible causes
Likely causes — what usually sits behind error code LoP on this control. A technician confirms which one it is before any part is replaced.
- Circuit shared with heavy kitchen equipment that pulls the voltage down
- Extension cord or worn receptacle losing voltage under load
- Utility brownout or an undersized supply feeder to the kitchen
Safe checks before calling for service
- Plug the freezer directly into a wall outlet if it is on a cord or power strip.
- Turn off large equipment on the same circuit to see whether LoP clears.
- Feel the plug for heat; if it is hot, unplug the freezer and stop.
- Do not open panels or take electrical readings.
- Write down the time of day and which equipment was running, for the technician.
How a technician diagnoses error code LoP
- Read the alarm and history and note the time pattern.
- Measure voltage at the outlet and at the unit during compressor start.
- Inspect the cord, plug and receptacle for voltage drop.
- Check the low voltage alarm limit against the unit's data.
- Check the compressor start current if the supply is confirmed low.
- Have the circuit corrected before replacing any freezer part.
- Voltage measurements under load mean working on live circuits.
- A weak feeder or shared circuit is an electrician's repair, not a freezer part.
- Repeated low-voltage starts can overheat the compressor, so its current needs checking with a meter.
How error code LoP differs from similar codes
LoP is the low side of the pair with HiP. The same table lists both so the controller can flag a supply that is too weak or too strong.

Can I use the freezer with LoP on?
Not for long. A weak supply makes the compressor strain, so watch product temperature.
Will LoP clear on its own?
It can when the supply recovers. If the cause is a shared circuit, it will return when the load repeats.
Is LoP the same as a power failure?
No. A power failure is a complete loss, while LoP means power is present but too low.
