Southbend Ovens and Ranges
The Southbend ovens we repair include the SilverStar and Marathoner Gold gas and electric convection ovens, with programmable, rack-timer, solid-state and CCH controls. Model numbers such as GB/12PC, SLGB/22SC and SLEB/10CCH turn up on the data plates. Older EZ Com gas ovens, like the CG/12SC and CG/22SC, are still in service. We also repair Southbend restaurant ranges.
Reading F Codes and EZ Com Messages
On programmable and rack-timer ovens, F codes tell us where to start. F2 means the oven went over its maximum temperature, F3 points to an open probe, and F4 to a shorted one. F1, F5, F6 and F8 point to the temperature controller, and F7 means a program’s total cook time went past 24 hours. On an EZ Com oven, messages such as Err GA:S for gas, Err Pr:0b for the probes and Err bu:tn for a stuck panel button guide the work. Once the cause is fixed, the oven is switched off and back on to clear the error.
Older Ovens and Ranges
Convection ovens that have worked through years of heat and grease need clean blower motors and sound door seals, and we check those along with the controls. On ranges we look at pilots, burner flames and oven thermostats. If an older Southbend is near the end of its life, we say so and show you the repair price next to the cost of replacement. Every repair is backed by our 30-day workmanship warranty.

F3 is an open temperature probe and F4 is a shorted one. Either way the oven cannot read its own temperature, so we test the probe and its wiring before replacing anything.
What is an EZ Com Southbend oven?
EZ Com is an older gas convection oven control used on models such as the CG/12SC. It shows Err messages for gas, probe and button problems, and we still service it.
Do you repair Southbend ranges as well as ovens?
