The TE is the Traulsen chef base, a refrigerated drawer cabinet that sits under a griddle or range. Models such as the TE036HT, TE048HT and TE060HT show the width. The cabinet uses the same Intela-Traul control as the TU and TS lines.
A chef base lives under heat. The griddle above warms the cabinet and the air around the condenser, and drawers get opened all shift. We check the drawers and gaskets first, then the condenser, since a clean alarm often shows on a chef base in a hot line. Then we check the sensors and the control.
If the cabinet sits too close to the equipment above it, we tell you what spacing helps. Spills from the equipment above can also run into the drawer tracks, so we check the slides for grease and food that make drawers stick and break the seal.

Warm kitchen air meets the cold drawer faces. A worn gasket makes it worse. We check the seals and the airflow. Wiping the drawer faces helps while you wait for service.
Does heat from the griddle hurt the chef base?
It adds load, and a dirty condenser makes it worse. Keeping the coil clean and the area around the base clear helps. Keeping the base clear of heavy heat helps it run.
Do you repair drawer slides?
Yes. We check the slides and rollers along with the gaskets and replace what is worn. We replace both the slides and the rollers where they are worn.
