Wascomat Washer Error Code 16: Timeout Heating
Code 16 means heating took longer than the overall heating timeout set in Config 2. A technician should check the timeout setting and the heating system. Use cold programs meanwhile.
Medium: heated programs cannot finish, though cold programs may still run.
What does Wascomat error code 16 mean?
When heating begins, the Compass control starts an overall heating timer. The limit is the value stored as HEATING TIMEOUT, SEC in Config 2. If the target temperature is not reached before the timer ends, the control stops the heating step and shows ERROR 016 / TIMEOUT HEATING. The check looks at the whole heating period, not the rate of temperature rise. That is a different test from code 08 NO HEATING, which watches how quickly the water warms. The manual lists no specific causes and tells us to check two things: the timeout setting in Config 2 and the heating system. A setting that is too short can trigger the code on a healthy machine with large loads or cold incoming water. A weak heating system will take longer and can reach the limit as well.
