The Compass control has a CPU board and a separate safety processor, the DLCU. The DLCU compares what the CPU wants with the state of the door lock. This is a safety cross-check between two processors, not a case where the control tried to set a speed while someone opened the door. The manual lists two causes: cross talk in the CPU circuits, and damaged parts on the CPU board. Its remedy is simple. Reset the error, and if it returns, replace the CPU board.
